Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Ambience Studio (“the app”, “we”) handles, why, and the choices you have. It covers the Ambience Studio Mac app and this website.
Information we handle
- Your projects and media. Audio, images, video and project files you work with stay on your Mac. We do not upload them anywhere except to YouTube, and only when you ask the app to publish a video.
- YouTube connection. If you connect YouTube, you sign in through Google’s own consent screen. We receive an access token that lets the app upload videos to the channel you authorized. The token is stored securely by our authentication provider and is used only to perform uploads you request.
- Basic channel information. To show which channel is connected, the app may read your channel’s name and ID.
- Update checks. The app checks
updates.ambiencestudio.appfor new versions. Like any web request, this exposes your IP address and app version to our hosting provider. - Support email. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message.
How we use Google user data
Ambience Studio requests the YouTube scope that allows uploading videos (youtube.upload). We use it solely to upload videos, with the metadata you provide, to the channel you chose. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not transfer it to third parties except the service providers needed to operate the feature (listed below), or as required by law.
Ambience Studio’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
YouTube API Services
Ambience Studio uses YouTube API Services. By connecting YouTube you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Service providers
- Nango manages the OAuth sign-in and stores the YouTube access token on our behalf.
- Cloudflare hosts this website, our API gateway and app updates, and forwards support email.
- Google / YouTube receives the videos you choose to upload.
Retention and deletion
Tokens are kept only while YouTube is connected. When you disconnect in the app, we delete the stored connection. You can also revoke access at any time from your Google Account permissions; after that the app can no longer upload on your behalf. To ask us to delete any data we hold about you, email support@ambiencestudio.app and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
Connections to our services use HTTPS. YouTube access tokens are held by our authentication provider, not stored in the app on your Mac.
Children
Ambience Studio is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
